I had a unique surgery as a baby, and I typically can’t sleep on my left side without horrible pain in the morning. Now I can lay with this ice pack comfortably, and I’ve gotten so much relief from it.I bought this for my full rotary cuff surgery. I researched before buying. Its soft and folds up nice and easy to chill and last about an hour so no need for many changes. I've slept with it on many times.Great productIt works well for short term use but there isn’t very much gel and it migrates to the edges. I have chronic pain because of a calcification in my shoulder and I would recommend something that is much thickerI had Rotator cuff surgery on July 1 and thought that this would be helpful to have because it is supposed to fit. Its been less that 2 weeks and I am returning it mostly because it's very uncomfortable.It is in the shape described but doesn't stay that way. It comes folded in half in the box and there is a plastic bag with it, which it must be put into before you put it in the freezer.1.The bag doesn't stop condensation on the item so ice crystals form on it (which eventually drip on you) 2. You can't freeze this item flat as it doesn't fit into the bag that way so when you take it out of the bag, frozen, it has to be pried apart and all the stiff edges cut into the skin of your neck.3. When frozen, it does mostly cover the shoulders on both sides it does not fit snugly until it begins to that.4. The bicep cuff is supposed to cover the entire bicep ( my bicep was cut and received an anchor) and the velcro strap holds it closed. Well the top portion of the bicep cuff when frozen does not wrap around the entire bicep and the edges (where it folds) stick out at 90 degree angles.Lastly, the picture is deceiving because the female has a long torso. I am 5'4. I had to have the torso strap go under my armpit, which digs, in order to get the pack to fit right.Items doesn’t get cold enough and is difficult to apply with just one person. But with help it’s easy to apply and done correctly.My wife uses these for rotator injury on one shoulder and for pain relief on the other shoulder following joint replacement. We bought two so that one would always be fully chilled before use.This ice pack became the go-to pain relief device since my shoulder surgery. At first, I needed help to put it on, but as I healed I was able to manage it myself. Comfortable and stays cold for the needed length of time. Highly recommend to anyone having shoulder surgery.I purchased this because of a long-standing rotator cuff injury that flares up when I exercise. I had been using ordinary ice packs but they were problematic because I had to remain perfectly still or they would fall off. That's why I went for this shoulder pack--it is contoured to fit my shoulder and it stays in place because it straps on.The tricky part is getting it strapped on, especially when my injured shoulder hurts. When I tried slipping it over my shoulder and then fastening the straps, the pain made it impossible to do this. If I had another person to tighten the straps it would not be an issue. But then I figured out how to do it myself. I fasten the two ends of the arm strap at maximum and attach only the strap that wraps around the body only at the back connecting point. I can then slip my arm through the loop created by the arm strap, pull the pack up over my shoulder, and then reach for the other strap and fasten it to the connecting point on the front of the ice pack. The arm strap is quite tight; I wish they had made it a little longer. If you have huge biceps you will probably not be able to fasten the arm strap. For my skinny arms, it is okay.The cold treatment itself is exactly what I needed. There is a choice between a vinyl side, which gives more intense cold, and a cushioned side that is not as intense. I tried them both and they work as advertised. This pack is way more convenient than loose ice packs.I did something to my right shoulder and was in some major pain for about 5 days. I decided to order this ice pack and received it in 2 days. Supper fast delivery! Put it in the freezer for about 4 to 6 hours before using it. It felt so good to have it on my shoulder. It wraps around your shoulder really well. I had a hard time figuring out the arm part, as there is no clip to pass the strap through like the top part has. Other than that, I love it. The plush side is very nice and comfortable. The other side is super cold even after 20 minutes of use. I could see how some would get frost bite. I would highly recommend this product for any shoulder, rotator cuff injury.This item is exactly what we needed for recovery after pitching a fame if baseball.
