greay buy. very sturdy and you can use the same one multiple timesI'm not a fan of the reusable straw. You have to implicitly trust whomever is washing by hand is thorough. That being said, the dishwasher machine, no matter how expensive, isn't cutting it. If it isn't a stainless steel interior, have it's own water heater and doesn't have it's own hard food disposal, meaning you Do Not Need to scrape the dishes, let alone rinse/wash your dishes, before putting inside the dishwasher, it cannot effectively clean a reusable straw. And the stainless steel and glass straws just hurt and possibly dangerous come to think about it. Anyway, on this Ibambo Disposable Bamboo Straw, they're almost 8 inches. My favorite cup is 8 inches exactly, before adding the lid. But it is insulated on the inside and didn't feel like washing my hubby's tape measure to go there, and the lid does recess enough so not to lose the straw inside the cup to have to fish out, peve. So it's earned 3 stars thus far. Durability, well.. you absolutely cannot chew on them, or squeeze them for that matter or it'll crack. My teeth are sensitive and use a straw to bypass the sensitivity, including bite them when drinks are extra cold, it helps. I read on a different review regarding a bamboo straw that it felt slightly splintery (not a word), but these absolutely do not feel splintery, unless you accidentally cracked it. And with that being said they do not cut well at all for smaller cup use, it will split. In closing;Pros: Love that it's. Disposable+Biodegradable+Sustainable,+fits favorite cup well enough without fishing.Cons: Not durable, no chewing or cutting. But still better than a paper straw. Still recommendThese are good alternative straws to have instead of plastic ones. The issue we encountered was that it began to break apart when having warm water. They don’t feel as solid but they don’t easily dissolve like paper straws in cold water (colder drinks in general) which is nice. There’s no smell or funny after taste. I do wish they were not individually wrapped because it adds more trash in the house.Because the straws are made of bamboo; they are a bit stiff and you can squeeze them a little bit and they do not collapse like paper. They are light tan in color. Very smooth. I like that they are individually wrapped. The straws are made in China. The address is a residential address, so it could just be a Chinese company using a US address. At the current price of twenty-four bucks I’m sure they are well over twice the price they should be. You can certainly find less expensive options… Especially if you are willing to go with paper instead of bamboo. But these are stronger than paper straws.I really love that I've found sustainable straws! If I use disposable cutlery, I already use bamboo, so I was extremely happy to try these. It's great that they come individually wrapped too; I can stick a few in my bag, so if we go anywhere for a drink, at least I can use biodegradable straws. All in all, I definitely recommend these...I use at least one straw a day my self and the rest of my family of five does too. I use one in my morning coffee. It’s a habit I’ve had for years after I read something that said drinking coffee through a straw is better for your teeth. While I hold no claim that is in fact true, I can tell you these straws are great. I tried to get on board with the stainless steel straws which I ended up poking my self with on a regular basis. Then I got silicone tips for them but they are a pain to clean. I have also tried all silicone straws but they are so bendy or wide. And then again, have to clean them. When places started banning plastic straws like amusement parks and professional sports teams and cruise ships, I thought ok this is a bit crazy but surely the paper straws are better for the environment. I tried the paper straws. First, they do not work for warm or hot coffee. They also fall apart by your second cup and I’m usually a 3-4 cup drinker. So I went back to the plastic straws. But I feel bad every day when I throw it in the trash. I saw these bamboo straws and figured I should see if they perform any better than the paper. PEOPLE, THESE BAMBOO STRAWS ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL TO PLASTIC in feel and functionality. Not only do they not fall apart in warm or hot coffee , but as a test I left one of the straws in a cup of water for THREE DAYS! Guess what? Didn’t fall apart. It was the same as when I put the straw in the water 3 days before. I have not tested how well they compost yet however. The package I ordered has individual wrapped straws. This feature is probably unneeded for me using at home, but if you are one that likes to keep extras in the car center console, or to bring along places so your kids don’t spill all over the place, or you just want to be eco friendly then having them wrapped is useful. I’ll be ordering these straws from now on while feeling way less guilty about my daily straw habit.
